Striped Uptown Handbag with Pocket Wallet

Photobucket

Photobucket

I have had this fabric for possibly a year and for some reason never used it. So I thought it was time and what better bag to make with it but the Uptown Handbag. I decided to also try and quilt the cover of the Pocket Wallet which I like much better.

Keep coming back to see what new creations I come up with. Also, I'm thinking purse parties so be sure to stay tuned for info on that!

Pocket Wallet

Photobucket

Photobucket

I made this wallet to go with The Little Handbag that was in my blowout sale. Someone wanted it and requested a wallet to match. I put a few things of my own in it so you all can see how the pockets can be used. I actually enjoy making these little things. Now if only I could figure out how to make the cover quilted......

Summer Flare Bag With Matching Pocket Wallet

Photobucket

This Flare Bag is a birthday gift for a friend's sister. Can you see the matching Pocket Wallet?

Photobucket

I have had this pattern that my mom's cousin so kindly shared with me for quite sometime but never had time to try it. New patterns make me nervous so I'm always hesitant to start something I've never tried before. Well, I finally tried it. My friend Mary requested one with the bag for her sister so I just sucked it up and tried it. It has 4 pockets, for money, ID, credit cards, even change and it's small enough to fit in your back pocket. It's great to carry in your purse but then grab to run in the store when you don't feel like carrying everything.

Photobucket

I'd like to try a larger version sometime. I'll be sure to post it when I do.

Uptown Handbag

Photobucket

Well, I'm beginning to love this style! It's kind of small but still has lots of room for things. It also doesn't take me very long to make so you will probably be seeing this style a lot. I quilted the handles of this one unlike the bag in the previous post. I like the handles quilted.

Introducing A New Style

Photobucket

The Uptown Handbag is rectangular bag that has the edges sewn so it has more of boxy shape. This bag is 12 in long and 8.5 in high with two short handles. I didn't quilt these handles just because I didn't know how it would be with such a small strap but I'm thinking I might quilt the handles of the next one and see how I like it.

Ravishing Rebecca

Photobucket

I love this fabric! I found it for a woman who wanted a bag that would go with mostly everything she wore, mainly red, blue and green. Could this fabric be any more perfect? I just love how brown goes with everything! So, Betty, this one's for you!

Ginni C, I finally measured the black and white bag for you. It's 15in long and 12in high. It's roomy and super cute in person. Be sure to email me at kcturner@epix.net if you are interested in it. And thanks for the comments!!

I'm On A Roll!

Photobucket

I have been praying the last few days for motivation to get bags done and motivation is what I got! This is the 3rd bag I have finished in 2 days! Ok, ok, 2 of them were already started but hey, 3 finished bags by Tuesday is pretty good.

This bag was made for no one in particular so, fans of the messengers, it's up for grabs!

Would you like to be on my blog?

I was wondering if anyone would like to be on my blog modeling one of their Quilted Bags that I made? I would love for "my viewers" to be able to see the bags in use. If anyone is interested, please email me a picture of yourself with your bag at kcturner@epix.net. I look forward to any responses!

Musical Messenger

Photobucket

"Do, Ray, Me, Fa, So, La, Te, Do" Can't you just hear me singing that? It's probably better that you can't. This bag was ordered by a woman who teaches music lessons. She wanted a bag that she could carry all her music books in and what better fabric to use than musical notes! I love the way this bag turned out! I think it's starting to become a problem that I make bags only because I love seeing the bags come together and then I want to use them all! It's been a real sacrifice...... :) Dawn, I hope the wait was worth it!

Replying to Ginni C.

Ginni asked if I have a link with the styles and the dimensions. I actually do not. I used to have a link with the available bags but for some reason I wasn't able to delete any bags from that list after they were sold so I just deleted the link altogether. If anyone is interested in a certain bag or style, I guess the best way to find out what the dimensions are or anything else about it would be to email me. My email address is kcturner@epix.net. Thanks!

Black and White Tote

Photobucket

I'm not sure if I would consider this bag a Tote or not. It is pretty much a Tote Bag but not really when you think about "my" Tote Bag style. This one has the sides sewed in further at the top but I didn't really know what to call it so we'll just consider it a Tote for the sake of not racking our brains to come up with a name for it. How's that? Anyway, I made this bag just to make it because a while back when I made the Black and White Diaper Bag from the January 29th post, I, not thinking clearly, made a whole extra bag piece so I figured instead of continuing to stare at it in my sewing room, I better finish it. Now to do all the other bags I have waiting for me.......

Black Florence Bag

Photobucket

I haven't made a Florence Bag in a while, it was a nice break from the diaper bags. This bag was ordered as a birthday gift for a mom-in-law. You can't go wrong with a black bag, it goes with everything. I'm not sure if you can see it but there is a front pocket on this one.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I just want to wish all the mother's who visit my blog a very wonderful Mother's Day!!

I haven't been sewing much lately because I've been sick with Migrainous Vertigo (that's what I've been told I have) for the last few days. Tomorrow I hope to get back into the swing of things.

Photobucket

This bag was ordered by a husband as a Mother's Day gift for his wife. How awesome is that! I didn't want to post it before Mother's Day, obviously, so I'm only posting it now, assuming she received it already. The style of this bag is the Leena Bag.

Once again, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Pink and Purple Diaper Bag

Photobucket

A gal who is having a little girl soon was looking for a pink and purple diaper bag to match her stroller and car seat. She didn't have any luck until she happened upon my blog where she custom ordered one. The purple fabric in this bag kind of looks a bit blueish in the the picture but it's totally purple in person. I think it will match beautifully!
