A New Project, not bag related

Since my sewing room/the baby's room has been getting painted, I was wondering what kind of theme, if any I was going to use. I went online and found an adorable crib set that was "countryish" with reds, greens and tans patchwork and immediately thought I could probably make something like that. So, I went to my country homespun stash and after working a bit last night and today on my kitchen table, mind you because my sewing room smells like paint, I have completed a crib bumper. The picture isn't that great because I don't have a crib set up to display it properly but hopefully you get the idea. The colors that you can't see are the countryish red and green. I'm pretty impressed with it. I used scraps of the homespun fabric as the ties. I can't wait to see it in use! I plan on making a few wall hangings sometime as well.

Black Mini-Messenger

Photobucket

I really like this Mini-Messenger. It was ordered as a Christmas gift, I think for a teen girl and she specifically wanted a lime green flower. Well this green was as close as I could get to lime and I think it's super cute. I'm actually liking the shorter strap as well. I finished this bag yesterday before the painting began in my sewing room, I just didn't have time to post it then.

On Hold

My work will be put on hold briefly, maybe a few days. The reason is because my sewing room is going to be the baby's room and it needs to be painted. A few years ago, I had painted a garden mural in that room and it was all pink and green with flowers and trees. Well, with a boy joining our family I can not have it pink and green! So today my husband put the primer on, covering all of my paintings. I'm not that bummed about it, I'm so excited about having a boy nursery that it doesn't matter to me that my beautiful mural is gone. So currently, my sewing room is out of sorts and it smells. Hopefully, my hubby will paint it the color I want soon and I can get things back into place to get working. We do plan to close in our back porch which will become my new sewing room in the next couple months. I'm excited to see it all come together but am a bit nervous that we only have 3 months to get it all done!

Photobucket

These two bags are a Messenger and Rebecca Bag that were ordered a while back as Christmas gifts. Everytime I make a Messenger, I long to have one for myself. One day, I will have one. The second bag is a Rebecca but I didn't do the normal scoop top because it has a V flap. Can you see it? It blends right in in the photo but it's there. I really like the look of this bag, too.

Bags for the Bash

These two bags are for the bag bash I'm doing this coming Saturday.

Photobucket

The Gracie Bags sold quickly at last weeks bag bash so I figured I better have more. I thought black and white might go over well.

Photobucket

This is the Leena Bag. It's a bit bigger than the normal size because of the 5 inch squares. If you are wondering if I like making bags with the patchwork quilting, the answer is yes!! It's quicker and super cute. I'm seriously loving the brown and pink, I can't get enough and apparently neither can my customers!!

Some Custom Orders

Photobucket

This bag was ordered at the Autumn Stroll. Donna put this one together for me. The fabric looks like water, doesn't it?

Photobucket

This Large Teacher Tote was custom ordered as a college graduation gift for a girl who's going to be an elementary teacher, I believe. It's definitely big enough to throw a ton of school stuff in there!

Photobucket

Photobucket

This bag is a smaller tote style Diaper Bag. It still has the outside bottle pocket and the three pockets on the inside for wipes and 2 bottles but it's perfect for when you just need a smaller diaper bag and not a huge one that has everything but the kitchen sink.

Baby Turner

Photobucket

I am 23 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I had my ultrasound on Wednesday and guess what.......it's a boy!! I wasn't going to find out because I feared knowing 4 months in advance that it was another girl but I gave in and found out anyway, with a helpful hint from the ultrasound tech. I can't believe I'm going to have a boy, finally!! Wow, what a difference it will be from 3 girls. I'm so thrilled!! Isn't he cute?

Brown and Pink again!!

Photobucket

I'm telling you, brown and pink is the ticket! Who cares about brown and turquoise anymore, pink has taken over. The majority of custom orders I have been getting have all wanted brown and pink. So here is another one. This one was order back at my sister's bag bash has a birthday gift for someone having a December birthday so I finally got it done.

Gracie Bag

Photobucket

These two bags are the Gracie Bags. I named them Gracie because my husband calls my 4 year old Gracie (her name is Kylie Grace) and these bags are little and cute just like her. I made these bags to take to a bag bash I'm doing tonight.

Brown and Pink Small Tote

Brown and pink is definitely the most popular these days. This is one of the bags that was custom ordered at the Autumn Stroll. The pink thing on the side is cell phone pocket with a flap. I'm trying to catch up.....

I love this fabric! This Mini-Messenger was a custom ordered bag. I like the little buttons as an accent.

Off Topic, Stamp Sets For Sale

I have quite a few Close To My Heart stamp sets that I no longer use or have never used. I am selling them at 30% off. I had originally emailed those ladies that I know who are into stamping but someone suggested I have pictures of them so they could see what the stamps actually are. I figured I would just post them on my blog, it would be the easiest way. If anyone is interested in purchasing any of these stamp sets, please email me kcturner@epix.net.

Inside of Wristlet

Inside of Black Wristlet

A few people wanted to see the inside of the Wristlet. It's nothing special, no pockets, just enough to hold the essentials.

Open Filled Wristlet

I also thought I would show you one with my stuff in it. My cell phone, keys and pocket wallet (with all my cards, ID and change) fit nicely inside.

Filled Wristlet

Here's what it looks like closed with my stuff in it. Pretty cute! These little things would be perfect for a day of shopping, craft shows, amusement parks, casinos, clubs, or just to go into the grocery store without carrying a big bag. Also, my friend Ang suggested using them as a wallet, with all your cards and money, it even would fit a checkbook, then you'd have all your important things in your bag where you can find them. Then when you want to run in somewhere, you just grab the Wristlet and go. I'm thrilled with the number of people who are interested in them, I may have to make more!!

Patchwork Flare Bag

Pink and Brown Patchwork Flare Bag

This bag was ordered at the Autumn Stroll. I love the look of the patchwork especially with the brown and pink. Ang Bender this is for you!!

Snugglies and Wristlets

Snugglies

Wristlets

I made all these Snugglies and Wristlets for the craft show. Sorry to inform you but the first Wristlet, the brown paisley one is spoken for, a friend requested it. Since a few of you have been asking me what I'm charging for the both Snugglies and Wristlets, they are $10 each. The Snugglies are also 2 for $17. I just love the Wristlets, it's a bummer I need to carry a big ole' bag!

Baby Snugglies

I know this is not bag related by any means but I saw this little thing yesterday and I couldn't help but want to make them. Maybe it's because I'm going to have a baby of my own. I'm calling them Snugglies. They have different soft textured fabrics for babies to feel and snuggle against as well as different colored and textured ribbons for them to pull on. They are only around 12"x 12" but are a super cute gift for baby or as a shower gift. I plan on making some boy and girl Snugglies and having them available for sale at the craft show this Saturday. Be sure to comment and let me know what you think!

Something New For a Change

Brown Red Flowers Wristlet

How about a Wristlet!! I have had this pattern for a few months now and just haven't played with it. So here is the first one. I'm hoping to make a few more for the Craft Show this Saturday (PG Middle School). It has velcro at both ends so it stays closed and things don't fall out. I think it's pretty cute!

Large Pink and Brown Red Angie Bag

How about a new style!! This is the Large Angie Bag. My very best friend's name is Angie so what better way to honor her friendship than to name a bag after her. My wonderful grandma bought me this pattern because she really liked it. I had intended the pockets (there is one on both sides between the straps) to be brown but cut pink by mistake.

Small Brown Red Flowers Angie Bag

This is the Small Angie Bag. I'm sure you can't tell the size difference in the pictures but if you come to the craft show you can see them in person, I'll have them both there. Maybe I'll be able to make more but I don't have my fingers crossed. I love the fabric in this bag and the Wristlet. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a great wintery bag.

Purchased Bags

These are a few of the bags that sold at the Autumn Stroll. I couldn't get them uploaded on photobucket all week with the "new uploader" so I attempted the old uploader and it worked! I should have tried that days ago!!

Blue and Green Patchwork Tote

I love this Tote! I was trying something new with the straps. You always see straps that go down to the bottom of the bag so this was my attempt. I think it's super cute! The fabric is adorable! I got those squares already cut and put together in a pack and couldn't resist them. My new quilting technique in this bag is quilting the inside of each square instead of my normal "diamond" shape. I like it a lot (can't you just hear my impersonation of Jim Carrey from Ace Ventura saying that?)

Pink spots Flare Bag

This is a Flare Bag with long straps. Nothing new or exciting about it just a fabric I haven't shown off yet.

Brown and Pink Patchwork Tote

I really like the new patchwork quilting (quilting in the squares). I had a few different brown and pink fabrics so why not use them all in a patchwork Tote! The brown and pink color scheme definitely was the big hit at the Stroll. I need to keep that in mind.....

The Autumn Stroll

Well, the Autumn Stroll didn't go near as well as it did last year. I got 4 orders, all for brown and pink bags, how funny is that! Two of Donna's bags sold and I think 5 of mine sold. We had 32 bags there so you can do the math. I would like to personally thank those ladies that keep coming back to me for bags. There were 5 ladies that I can think of that came to the Autumn Stroll and have one or more of my bags and bought another there. I really appreciate your "faithfulness".

I will be doing the craft show at the Pine Grove Middle School on November 8th, I think it's from 9-2. I wasn't going to because I didn't think I would have the time to fit it in but now that the Stroll didn't go too well, I figure I don't really have anything to lose but possibly some bags! Quite a few people asked me if I was going to be at the school craft show so I guess I'll just do it and see how it goes. I'm going to try to get in the gym so be sure to look around for me.

I attempted to post a few of the bags that sold Saturday but photobucket wasn't uploading my pictures so I'll try again later.

Sneak Peak

Photobucket

I wanted to give you all a sneak peak of some adorable bags I've been working on for the Autumn Stroll. I'm so excited about some of these bags. I haven't quilted them in my normal diamond shaped way. They are patchwork bags that I have only quilted around the inside of each square like I would hand quilt a patchwork wall hanging or something. I love the look of it! This Lila bag is one of my favs and it will be hard to part with. So you have to stop by the Stroll this Saturday from 10-4pm in Pine Grove to see what else I've come up with!!

New Bag Style

Photobucket

Yes, it just might snow in October, I came up with a new bag, without a pattern then yet!! It's hard to see exactly how this bag is shaped. It's gathered a bit at the top and has a curved bottom. Ignore the white lines in the center, it's my white pencil mark and I have to work more on rubbing it off. I'm not quite sure what to call it, maybe the Slouchy Bag or the Sack Bag. I'll take suggestions! I wanted to know what people thought of this bag before I went and made up a pattern to make more since my time is kind of limited right now. What are your thoughts??

Donna's Creations

Photobucket

Photobucket

Here is a sneak peak at what Donna has been working on. She finished 5 bags since last Tuesday!! The first one is a Small Tote with an outside cell pocket and the second is a Mini-Folio that is definitely an eye catcher. I love that fabric!! I don't want to show anymore, I want some of the bags to be a surprise at the Autumn Stroll!!
