Merry Christmas!
I hope everybody had a great Christmas and I am glad to hear that those who got some of my bags as Christmas gifts really liked them, so I'm thrilled about that!! My Christmas day went well, the kids all got what they wanted and my wonderful husband got me a gift card to my favorite clothing store, a new awesome crock pot and he even got me some new sewing supplies. Oh and fyi, he actually helped me sew a bag last night. And I don't just mean cut or marked fabric which he has done before, oh no this time he sewed! I was sick but needed to get this bag done as a gift and my husband came through for me and sat at my sewing machine and sewed for the first time and did a pretty good job at that! I think I found my new apprentice!!
Anyway, hope ya'll had a great Christmas!

This is the Florida Bag. It's only the second one I've done in this style. I wasn't too sure about the first one I did (you can check it out here) but I like this one! Of course, brown and turquiose makes everything better!! Des wanted a cell phone pocket in the inside but on the side so that is the second picture. Hope you like it!!

Answering Keeperumbc
Hi keeperumbc! You commented on the Purple Patchwork Tote and I just wanted to take a moment and reply to you. Congrats on the pregnancy! I have posted some diaper bags in older posts, just so you can see the style, the last was posted on October 12, it's the Care Bear Diaper Bag. The diaper bags run around $55. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with!
Very Large Tote
Ok, Ladies, this Tote is made for a teacher to carry all her school supplies but think of this.....a Scrapbooking Tote!! I made one for myself back in the spring and it is the perfect size for your paper trimmer, 12 x 12 paper and other supplies. This tote has two inside pockets, one is great for that paper trimmer and the other I have my stamp scrubber and stickease and other embellishments in it and then I carry a ton of 12 x 12 paper in it as well as stamps and ink and pictures of course! Think about it! I'll call it the Scrap-away-for-the-day Tote! Thanks Veronica for the catchy name suggestion!

I'm still here...
I know I haven't posted any bags in a while but I'm still around sewing, sewing, sewing. This time of year is just so busy and of course I had to fit shopping into my schedule and not just shopping for fabric either!! I can't believe how fast Christmas is coming. It feels like just yesterday I was at the Autumn Stroll getting my name and business out there and now here it is, less than 3 weeks away from Christmas and I have had orders, orders, and more orders! I even dream about bags in my sleep! Anyway, here are the latest bags I've made. I am currently working on a very large tote bag as well so hopefully I'll be posting that one soon.
Rebecca Bag
This one is actually not as narrow as all the other Rebecca's. I tweeked it so it would be wider.
This one is mine!!

My Latest Creations.....
Once again, I LOVE THIS FABRIC!! I can't seem to say that enough! This one isn't mine though, folks, too many orders right now but believe me when I tell you, I WILL HAVE A BAG WITH THIS FABRIC!!
This bag is for a Red Hat Club fan, hence the purple and red. It worked out that I couldn't find any fabric with actual red hats on it that I liked because now the bag can be used anytime!

My New Fav Fabric!!
I absolutely LOVE this fabric!! A woman requested a bag with purples and a bit of pink and this is what I found and I am in love!! The picture does not do this fabric justice, it's definitely one you need to see in person! And you may, I think this is what MY next bag will be made out of.......
Oh and this bag was the 17th bag I made in exactly one month! After Christmas, I may need a vacation!!

Isn't She Lovely?
This Naomi Bag was ordered at the Autumn Stroll and the gal that ordered it wanted it totally solid. I talked her into adding a patterned fabric and I hope she likes, I may have went a bit much on the brown fabric but I just thought it wouldn't have looked as nice without those certain pieces being brown. I have my fingers crossed.... but I think it's loverly!!

Bag Ideas
Since the School Bag was made, I've had quite a few people interested in a bag like that. I also have had someone ask me about "music fabric" which gave me the idea of "themed" bags. So I wanted to let you all know that if you have a certain hobby or interest or you know someone that does and you'd like a more themed bag, just let me know, I'll see if I can get some fabric for it. I saw all kinds of fabric yesterday, musical, teacher, sewing, sports, Red Hat (which I'm going to do a bag with for a friend's grandmother), even coffee fabric and much more. I have a few fabric stores that I prefer and between them, I'm sure I'll find something for anyone! A themed bag would make a great Christmas gift!

Update on the School Bags
I have had quite a few comments on the School Bag so if anyone would like one for themselves or as a gift, just let me know. I do not have the fabric I used for that bag considering that fabric was bought by the customer but I do plan on getting that fabric or similar. I do have quite a few orders right now but I'm hoping to have them all done this month. Please be patient with me, I'm only one person with two hands and one sewing machine. Do let me know though if you are interested at kcturner@epix.net. Thanks so much!

A Teacher's Bag
A friend of mine who is a kindergarten teacher brought me some fabric to make her a Teacher Bag. This is what I ended up with. The chalkboard fabric just makes this bag adorable! I have been told after making this bag that I should make some more Teacher Bags, that they would be a big hit. What do you all think?

The Autumn Stroll is Tomorrow!!!
I can't believe the Stroll is tomorrow! The time sure did fly by. Before I know it it will be Sunday and the Stroll will be over and in the past. I'm getting quite nervous, I get nervous over everything though, ask my husband, he thinks I'm nutty. Anyway, I will be sure to post about how I did tomorrow as well as any bags that are still available. Ok then, wish me luck!

Update!!
The Black and White Rebecca Bag is no longer available. A lady contacted me in need of a bag for a trip across the country this month. She chose that bag. So sorry to those ladies that had their eye on that one. I hope to make another bag to make up for it. Don't forget I accept custom orders!! I'll have swatches of fabric to chose from and a little album of most of the bags I've made. See you there!

My favorite bag to date!!!
Sorry, Gals, this one is spoken for. My lovely friend Missy wanted a bag with a few different brown and pink fabrics. After searching here and there and everywhere, I finally found some. Why more people don't have brown and pink fabric is beyond me!! Anyway, she requested a flower on the bag but the rest was up to me. I absolutely LOVE the way this bag turned out! The flower got a bit larger than planned but it still looks super cute! This one's going to be pretty hard to part with.
This picture is not the clearest and the pink looks a little different than the picture above, must have been the lighting. Sorry.

Care Bear Diaper Bag
This diaper bag was custom ordered as a baby shower gift. The mother-to-be LOVES Care Bears and her favorite color is purple so hopefully she will really like this diaper bag. The gal who ordered it asked that I embroider the name on it so that is what you see on the left of the bag. I actually worked on this one for a week and a half, while working on other bags, but I'm glad to finally see it together. Hope they like it!

Rebecca Bag
I told you I was on a Black and White bag kick! I'm all into it! This is the Rebecca Bag style. It's the same style as the small brown and dark pink paisley with the pointed flap and gold button. It's just larger and is tweeked a bit. I really like the size of this one. I guess I would put it in the larger bag category for those of you who like those larger bags. As my poll results show, there are more ladies who like a large bag than a smaller one so I've been trying to please that group of ladies as well. Hope you like it!!

Mini-Messenger
This bag was inspired by your typical Messenger Bag with the big flap. I was taking a trip to New York City and needed a small bag that I could carry across my chest and this bag worked perfectly. It's much to small for my everyday bag so I decided not to keep it around. If anyone is interested in it, it will be at the Stroll.

Another Small Tote

Newest Tulip Bag
This fabric has been so popular that I had to make a Tulip Bag with it! So for those of you who have had your eye on the small tote with the flower in this same type of fabric, I will be making more bags (as many as I can) with these fabrics so there is more of a variety to choose from. Hope you like this one! It will be at the Autumn Stroll.

The Winner is............
Or should I say "the winners are"....... Yes, you read correctly, there are two winners this time!! Before I get into it all, I would like to thank all of you for the birthday wishes! That was really nice! Ok, so after counting every single bag I've made, I realized that there were two ladies that guessed a number 2 away from the actual number. So, the total number of bags I have made is......54. The winners are:
Erin Frantz who guessed 52
&
Amy Macak who guessed 56
Congratulations Erin and Amy! You both will get a 20% discount on a bag purchase! Contact me anytime with an order or use the discount at the Autumn Stroll!

My Sewing Mishap
This morning I had every intention of getting ready and going to the Hegins Craft Fair with my mom and grandma. We were going to leave a bit after 10:00 (I wasn't going to be a vendor this time, just checking it out for next year). So, it was around 9:45 or so and I decided to sew a little. Well, what happened next wasn't in my plan for the day. Somehow, I don't even know how, it happened that quick, my finger ended up jammed on the presser foot with the sewing needle straight through it, coming out the other side. I finally managed to get the needle with my finger attached to it out of the machine but it wasn't an easy task to do. The picture is kind of gross, so be ready. They also aren't the clearest.
I called the doctor which of course he said not too pull it out and head to the ER. After an hour and 15 minutes, 2 novicane (sp) shots, one quick pull and a bandage, I headed for home with the bent needle and a piece of blood stained thread.
As soon as I came home I went to my sewing machine to make sure she still worked which she did, thank goodness! I am taking the rest of the day off from sewing but the show must go on so I'll probably be back at it tomorrow, with my fingers far from the presser foot and the needle.

I'm feeling generous.....
My birthday is this Friday, September 14th and in honor of that, I am giving one lucky person a 20% discount on a future bag purchase. Get your brains ready though because you must answer a question in a comment to this post to be eligible for the prize. The question is: How many bags have I made total, so far? Keep in mind, I made the first bag in March 2007. The person who's answer is closest to the correct number gets the discount. I will announce the winner on Monday the 17th of September. Good luck!!

Paisley Florence Bag
I tried a new flower, I hope you can see it well, I only just realized that I didn't take a close-up picture of the flower. This bag is a bit bigger than the Country Florence Bag. This bag is about 17 in. long at the top x 10 in. high. It's a very roomy bag for those who stuff everything in their bag including the kitchen sink.

The Bella Bag
I was playing around with the idea of a round bag. The inspiration for this bag actually came from a Bella Stamp (http://www.stampingbella.com/) hence the name Bella Bag. I think I may have to tweek the next Bella Bag to get it exactly the way I want it, but this one didn't turn out too bad. Thanks, Kathy, for introducing me to the Bella Stamps! It's a small bag, about 10 in. long and 7 in. high. I'm really into the smaller bags lately, they are super cute, although I wonder if the majority of ladies out there prefer a bigger bag. Hey, I think I just came up with my next poll!
